Solar Photovoltaics Benefits

  • Reduces electric bills. At the end of the day, having sunlight is free. So after you have paid for the initial installation, you’re outgoing electricity bills will be reduced. This is a cost saving exercise.
  • Reduce carbon footprint. Having solar photovoltaics is a great way to contribute to helping the environment. It is classified as green renewable energy. It does not release any damaging pollutants in the atmosphere.

How do solar panels (Solar Photovoltaics) work?

The PV cells are produced from layers of semi-conducting material, typically silicon. When sunlight shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers. If you have strong sunlight shining on the cells, it will crease more electricity. If its a dull cloudy day then the cells do not produce as much electricity. Groups of cells are morphed together in panels or modules which can be installed on your roof or if there is space on the ground.

The power produced by a PV cell is measured in kilowatts peak (kWp). This is the rate at which it generates energy at peak performance in full direct sunlight. Our Solar PV cells come in a different shapes and sizes to suit the place where they will be mounted.
